Getting Started With Your Kit Library

Templates

February 6, 2025

Ready to level up your content? With your Kit template library, you can easily access, customize, and download a variety of designs for all your social media and video needs. So let’s get started.

Access your Kit library

After purchase, we’ll send an instant access link to your email. This link will open up your Kit template library. This is where all of your unaltered templates live.

We occassionally make improvements to the library by adding different sizes or designs. Since the library is live, you will always have the most up to date version of your Kit.

Pick a format for your post

Instagram Posts [1080x1080]

These are square designs that used to be the norm for Instagram. Now you can use them for profile photos, Instagram Posts (we recommend portrait size though), Facebook ads, LinkedIn carousel ads, etc.

Instagram Posts [1080x1350]

This is the Portrait size that Instagram just transitioned their grid to. It’s a slightly taller format that fills more of your phone screen while you scroll. You can also use them for Instagram feed photos, Instagram carousels, Twitter posts, etc.

Instagram Reels [1080x1920]

This is the universal Vertical video size. You can use it on Instagram Stories & Reels (including thumbnails), Tiktok, Youtube shorts, Facebook stories, etc.

Youtube Video [1920x1080]

This is the universal Horizontal video size. Think anything that would traditionally be watched on a TV. You can use it on Youtube videos and thumbnails.

Pick what type of content you need

What type of design do you need?

Each product page includes an extensive list of designs included in your specific kit. Below is an example of the template list from The Polaroid Kit:

Combining the assets

Depending on your content type, you may need one or several designs.

If you are making a simple 8 second reel over b-roll footage, you might only grab a type list or type quote. For a carousel, you might combine a thumbnail, several type designs, and a call to action. While editing a Youtube video, you might need a thumbnail, a social handle, question & answer, photo frames, and a call to action.

The combinations are truly endless, so get creative!

Add a design to your Canva account

Adding & organizing

Once you’ve selected your design, simply click on the thumbnail. This will take you to the live template link. Click on the Edit template button to add the design to your Canva account.

To keep things organized, select File > Move to a folder. Now you can select a folder to keep your template stored in. Otherwise, you’ll end up with a bunch of loose templates that are impossible to find and search for. My type-A brain can’t handle that. 🤣

Updating your Template

Now you can make it your own! Update photos, colors, and type. If you’re new to Canva, we have some tips on how to Brand Your Canva Designs FAST.

Downloading your assets

If you’re creating a still design (like a post or carousel) or a quick reel, you may find it easiest to create everything entirely inside of Canva. That way you can take advantage of all the stock assets on the platform.

For longer formats like Youtube videos, you may want to download your assets individually to work with inside your editing software, like Premiere, Davinci, or Capcut. The Canva timeline can get a bit difficult to use with longer edits.

Still designs

Even though all of our kits are video templates, you can download still frames from Canva. These can be used for video thumbnails, reel thumbnails, posts, carousels, profile photos, etc.

We recommend PNGs for higher quality. On the Menu bar, navigate to Share > Download > PNG.

Video formats

If you need to make the duration of your video shorter or longer, find the clock icon in the Menu bar > Edit timing.

When you’re ready to download, go to the Menu bar and navigate to Share > Download > mp4.

For Youtube videos, you can choose to move the quality slider up to 4K for higher resolution. Usually 1920x1080 is the standard for phone viewing and comes with much smaller file sizes.

Now get creating!

I hope your kit empowers you to start creating content and connecting with your audience. So go build the brand of your dreams. ✨

See you in the next post! Keep leveling up your content. 💪
